Meet Your Inspector

DAVE RISHA

Dave spent his childhood working with his dad in his parents’ plumbing shop and earned his master plumber’s license at age 17. He then joined the Air Force as a firefighter and was assigned to the rescue team lead for Space Shuttle operations at Holloman, AFB NM. Following his USAF commitment, Dave applied his construction knowledge by supporting our military by operating and maintaining military bases and other government owned facilities across the United States. He recently retired after 36 years and now provides his knowledge of construction and maintenance to homeowners. He started Toltek Services, LLC in 2009 to provide free preventive maintenance instructions to homeowners through his website. Toltek Services, LLC became the “Home of the Maintenance Guru®.” His ability to provide maintenance tips, cost reducing techniques, and insurance savings while talking to people about their home is what he enjoys most. He also understands the challenges homeowners face with family members having special needs and works to identify safety concerns that he has disclosed throughout his career. Dave also holds a Florida property and casualty insurance license and may even be able to reduce your insurance costs.

What We Inspect and Why

A home inspection is a visual examination of the home's major structure, systems, and components that are visible and safely accessible. Buying a home is typically the biggest investment you will ever make, so it's important to get a home inspection because the inspector can find and document defects that may or may not be obvious to you as a prospective buyer.  Such defects can range from simple replacements or repairs to severe damage or safety and health concerns.

  1. Interior, exterior, walls, windows, and doors

  2. HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning)
